20 minutes by car to Cerknica or to the parking lot, which is the starting point of today's walk.

Equally beautiful and appropriate with a bicycle.

Everything is well-marked, and parking is paid.

I chose the 10 km long path ŽABA (FROG), and it took me 2 and a half hours.

The beauty of the lake enchants you. You, nature and the sound of silence. And a tractor in the background once in a while.

"Change is the only constant in life."

Heraclitus.

However, the fear of change is also a constant.

Fear defeats more people than anything else in the world.

The inhabitants of the lake have been used to the different faces that the lake shows for thousands of years. Every spring the lake is full of water and floods several times due to the waters that flow from the surrounding hills at the end of winter and flow into the valley.

A complex system. And therein lies its magic. The gullies fill up and the lake can be 30 square km in size. And it fills up in 2-3 days.

In summer, the water drains away, leaving dry gullets of lunatic patterns. All around are blooming meadows, a true natural botanic garden. A paradise for amphibians, fish (which have to be transferred to a part that is always full of water in the summer) and dragonflies.

Why are we so afraid of change?

We are not satisfied with something in life, but we cling to the same patterns and expect something to change! I myself am guilty of the same actions.

However, sometimes the desire for change is so strong that it overcomes the fear and we gather enough energy and will to move things in another direction. That's when miracles begin.

In the beginning, everything may be chaotic. However, when things start to fall into place, everything is clear and logical.

And we say to ourselves, why didn't I do this before?!

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

Albert Einstein.

Tribute to changes.
