Lilly of the valley

15 minutes by car to Križna cave in the direction of LOŽ. You park in front of Križna cave and then walk along the forest path to Križna Mountain up the hill. It will take one hour of slow walking. When going back down you can choose a different path. The path is well-marked.

A total of an hour and a half walking and a half hour drive there and back.

On the way up, you walk through a beech forest. The bright green trees are a nice contrast to the white rocks scattered throughout the forest.

At the top, on one side you can see the valley of Cerknica Lake and on the other side, you can see the view of Mount Snežnik. Like Mount Fuji, it dominates the landscape with its white snow-capped top.

If you want a view of the lake, you must visit Križna mountain in early spring, when the lake is still vast.

As mentioned, there is a beautiful view of Cerknica Lake at the top, which reminds me how sometimes we should zoom out and see the bigger picture.

I'm a person who pays attention to the details and it's hard for me to see the bigger picture. If I have a problem, I have to consciously put my ego aside and try not to focus on the details.  I must zoom out and neglect my perception of the world. I try to be grateful for events and obstacles because they teach me to be open-minded and stoic. But I admit, it’s difficult for me. The most important thing is that I am aware of this.

Going back down the hill I enjoy watching the details on the trees. Some patterns on the bark I see as abstract paintings.

Well, who doesn't know how to look at things more broadly?
